Victoria's Secret's model loses her shorts in cheeky tackle by Tom Arnold at celebrity American football game

Tom Arnold tackles Marisa Miller, pulling down her leggings to reveal her bottom during a celebrity American football game on Miami Beach

As a lingerie model for Victoria's Secret, Marisa Miller must be used to strutting her stuff wearing very little.

But it's safe to say she did not imagine she would be showing it all off at a celebrity American flag football match.

Thanks to actor Tom Arnold and his enthusiastic tackles, however, that is exactly what happened.

The Victoria's Secret model laughed as Tom Arnold went in for the kill

The former husband of comedienne Roseanne Barr accidentally caught Miss Miller's leggings as he made a dive for one of the flags she was wearing around her waist.

The memorable tackle came during the Super Bowl festivities in Miami on Saturday.

And by the looks of things, it would seem that Miss Miller doesn't wear Victoria's Secret underwear outside of work.

'All of a sudden this big, sweaty guy was on top of me,' Miss Miller, who won Most Valuable Player, lamented after the game.

Mr Arnold seemed to deliberately target Miss Miller's jogging bottoms, but the supermodel saw the funny side.

Celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Lautner, Brian McKnight and Olivia Munn competed in the no-holds-barred game during the Super Bowl festivities in Miami on Saturday.

Gossip Girl stars Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Jessica Szhor also got in on the action.

The match, DIRECTTV's Fourth Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl, was played in front of thousands of screaming fans.

The teams were coached by quarterback Mark Sanchez of the NY Jets and NY Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

And while Miss Miller certainly appeared to be in shape, she told Fox News that she’s gained weight since the famous Victoria’s Secret Runway Show in November

World's tallest skyscraper is closed just ONE MONTH after its spectacular opening ceremony

Spectacular: The Burj Khalifa has closed just a month after it opened

The world's tallest building was unveiled in a spectacular blaze of fireworks, hailed as a shining beacon of Dubai's new wealth and glamour.

But just a month after it opened, the half-mile high Burj Khalifa skyscraper has unexpectedly been closed for repairs.

The move has disappointed thousands of tourists heading for the observation deck on the 124th floor.

It also casts doubt on plans to welcome the £1billion building's first permanent occupants in the coming weeks.

The cause of the closure was unclear today, as electrical problems and 'high traffic' were both blamed. No date has been given for when the viewing platform will reopen.

In recent weeks, thousands of visitors have queued up for the chance to buy tickets for viewing times often days in advance. Now they will have to queue again for refunds.

Wayne Boyes, 40, a tourist from Manchester, had a ticket for today but when he arrived was told the observation deck was shut.

He said: 'It's just very disappointing. The tower was one of my main reasons for coming here.'

The observation deck, which is mostly enclosed but includes an outdoor terrace bordered by guard rails, is located about two-thirds of the way up on the 124th floor.

Adult tickets bought in advance cost £17.40 but sightseers can also pay around £70 to jump to the front of the queue.

Breathtaking: The view from the half-mile high Burj Khalifa, which visitors pay up to £70 to see. But the viewing platform has been closed indefinitely

The 2,717-ft glass tower, whose spire can be seen 60 miles away, was opened in a fanfare of publicity on Jaunary 4, in a ceremony televised around the world.

At more than twice the height of the Empire State Building, it easily dwarfs the previous highest skyscraper, Taipei 101, and Dubai hoped it would be a major tourist draw.

In a brief statement, the building's owner Emaar Properties blamed the closure on 'unexpected high traffic', but then suggested that electrical problems were also at fault.

'Technical issues with the power supply are being worked on by the main and subcontractors and the public will be informed upon completion,' the company said.

Tourists affected by the closure are being offered the chance to rebook or receive refunds.

Fanfare: The opening ceremony

The indefinite closure comes as Dubai struggles to revive its international image as a cutting-edge Arab metropolis amid nagging questions about its financial health.

The city-state is facing a slump in tourism - which accounts for nearly a fifth of the local economy - while fending off negative publicity caused by more than £50 billion in debt it is struggling to repay.

The building had been known as the Burj Dubai during more than half a decade of construction, but the name was suddenly changed on opening night to honour the ruler of neighbouring Abu Dhabi after it provided Dubai with £16 billion in emergency cash to help cover its debts.

Questions were raised about the building's readiness in the months leading up to the opening.

The opening date had originally been expected in September, but was then pushed back until after the New Year.

There were signs even that target was ambitious. Early visitors to the observation deck had to peer through floor-to-ceiling windows caked with dust - a sign that cleaning crews had not yet had a chance to scrub them clean.

Work is still ongoing on many of the building's other floors, including those that will house the first hotel designed by Giorgio Armani that is due to open in March.

The building's base remains largely a construction site, with entrance restricted to the viewing platform lobby in an adjacent shopping mall.

The first of some 12,000 residential tenants and office workers are supposed to move in to the building this month.

Toyota recalls 8,500 Prius cars in Britain over braking fears

By Ray Massey

Green icon: The Prius's eco-friendly credentials have made it a best seller, but now Toyota is planning to repair the brakes on thousands of the hybrid cars

Toyota today formally announced a world-wide recall of the Prius because of fears over its brakes.

UK owners of more than 8,500 third generation Prius models, launched last year, will be asked to take their cars to a garage to fix a braking glitch.

Around 400,000 cars sold worldwide will be affected by the recall. No other Toyota or Lexus models are affected by this latest recall in Europe
It comes a day before Toyota bosses face a grilling before a US Congressional hearing into the company's safety record tomorrow.

Toyota says the Prius problem, which creates the feeling of a delay when the anti-lock brakes are activated in tricky conditions, is a 'phenomenon' and not safety related.

However, following the backlash over a sticky accelerator pedal which affected more than eight million cars and was blamed for 19 deaths, Toyota has decided on a swift recall of the Prius.

The Prius, which has become an icon of green design, was Japan's best-selling car last year, with 200,000 models being recalled in the country

Sorry: Toyota's President Akio Toyoda issued a grovelling apology

There have been 180 complaints about brake problems with the Prius in the U.S. and Japan, and the defect has been linked to at least five crashes.

Toyota's president has issued a grovelling apology as continuing saftey fears have seen £19billion wiped off the company's share price.

Akio Toyoda, the grandson of Toyota's founder, said: 'I would like to take this opportunity to apologize from the bottom of my heart for causing many of our customers concern after the recalls across several models in several regions.'

Official investigations have been ordered in the U.S. and Japan although British ministers have not so far followed suit.

Seven Toyota models are included in the previous recall in Britain - the Auris, Avensis, Aygo, Corolla, iQ, Verso and Yaris - which could have been fitted with faulty accelerator pedals.

It affects 180,865 cars in Britain, but owners have been warned it could take up to four weeks for them to be notified. More than 10,000 motorists have tried to use Toyota's hotline and website and many complaint lines were jammed.

Meanwhile it has emerged that 270 Toyotas here have been reported as having the potentially lethal fault.

Toyota said that it had confirmed 20 cases before announcing the recall, but another 250 were reported in the past week.

The first UK claim of a crash was made yesterday by a solicitor for an unnamed driver in the Midlands, who is said to have received head injuries when his Toyota hit a wall at 30mph last September.

Mr Toyoda bows before the world's media as he says sorry for safety problems that have wiped £19billion off the company's share price

Toyota estimates the cost in lost sales and repairs over the recall at £1.25billion but that is set to rise sharply with the Prius now involved.

The car giant reported pre-tax profits of £1.56billion for the last quarter of 2009 and credited the hybrid for its success.

Rival car maker Honda also faced embarrassment this week when it announced a recall of 172,000 of its Jazz cars because of fears they could catch fire.

Megan Fox enrols a 'hand double' as she peels off for sexy Super Bowl advert

Titillation: Megan Fox strikes a sexy pose in the bath on her Motorola smart phone during the Super Bowl advert

In Hollywood, it is commonplace for shy stars to enrol a body double for a sex scene.
But while Megan Fox happily went naked in her latest film Jennifer's Body, it appears she isn't quite so confident with her hands.

In her latest role, starring in a one-off Super Bowl advert for Motorola, it appears the actress has enlisted a hand double.

Scroll down to watch the advert

Hands on: Fox in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen last year

In the Motorola ad screened yesterday, a naked Megan Fox reclines in a bubblebath with some strategically placed suds protecting her modesty.

But while her sexy pouting caught a lot of attention, other viewers were more concerned with the fact her 'hands' didn't belong to her.

In the commercial, a totally different woman's fingers are seen playing with the phone during the close-up.

The actress has a genetic condition called brachydactyly, which means she has clubbed thumbs.

So rather than use her actual thumbs for the close-up on the new Blur smart phone, Motorola enlisted a hand model.

While Motorola were likely expecting lots of internet buzz over Fox's naked appearance in the ad, bloggers couldn't help commending on her hands.

A writer on the Celebrity Smack blog said: 'Did anyone else catch this? I couldn’t help but chuckle when they showed a close-up of the Motorola phone and the hands holding it were definitely not Megan Fox’s.'

The 30 second ad, which would have cost Motorola between $2million and $3million for the coveted advertising slot, would have been seen by around 90million American TV viewers.

Spot the difference: The hand used in the Motorla ad (left) and a close-up of Fox's hand in How To Lose Friends And Influence People

The ad sees the Transformers beauty lounging in a bath day-dreaming and wonders what would happen if she published a photo of herself on the internet.

After pouting for the camera in the bath, she says: 'I wonder what will happen if I send it out...'

The action then cuts to electrical wires exploding, a man falling off a ladder because his friend is preoccupied with the photo and arguing couples as they all receive the saucy photo.

The ad then returns to Fox in the bathtub, who muses: 'Probably nothing

Scrubs up well: Fox looks teasingly at the camera as she suggest sending her bathtime snaps all over the internet

Making love to the camera: Fox pouts for her close-up

Despite suffering from the slight cosmetic defect, her short thumbs haven't stopped Fox from becoming one Hollywood's sexiest stars.

Leading New York hand surgeon Dr Steven Bendner told the New York Daily News last year: 'Literally, what it means is short finger. The nail of the thumb in this condition is often very short and wide. It is usually hereditary.

'You need it to be able to touch the other fingers and it is important for pinching," he says. "In Megan Fox’s case, it appears that only the last bone of the thumb is affected and that it does not involve the joint. For her, it looks like it’s just a cosmetic deficit.'

'We're not splitting!' Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie release legal statement insisting they are stronger than ever after public show of affection at Su

What split? Angelina and Brad put on a rare public show of affection at the Super Bowl in Miami

According to the Hollywood rumour mill, they were on the brink of splitting.
But it seems Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are determined to silence such whispers.
Indeed, at Sunday's Super Bowl they put on display of togetherness worthy of an Oscar nomination

After arriving in the VIP section of the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, the couple were seen kissing, hugging and laughing - at times oblivious to the on-field drama as the New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts.

And to reinforce the message, they issued a legal statement yesterday insisting that they have no intention of ending their relationship.

Lawyers for the couple said that they are not about to split and would consider suing any media outlets which continue publishing the 'false allegations'.

The move follows weeks of speculation about their five-year relationship, with reports suggesting they have signed legal papers over their £200million fortune and custody of their six children

Humanitarian visit: Angelina poses with staff at the Dario Contreras Trauma Center in the Dominican Republic yesterday after visiting Haitian children at the hospital

Jetting off: Brad and son Maddox are seen boarding his private jet in Miami

Their denial came just hours after the Hollywood couple took their eldest son Maddox, eight, to watch the Super Bowl game in Miami.

During the game, the couple were seen being affectionate with one another as they cheered on the Saints' dramatic 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts which provided such an emotional moment for the city of New Orleans, devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

And as they watched the game from their prime location seats, they gave photographers plenty to watch as they cuddled up for the cameras with enthusiastic, toothy grins

Happy together: To reinforce the message, they issued a legal statement yesterday insisting that they have no intention of ending their relationship

While not known for their huge interest in American football, Pitt and Jolie are big supporters of New Orleans and own a $3.5million 1830s house in the historic Louisiana city.

Jolie, 34, and Pitt, 46, will no doubt be hoping their public outing on the biggest night of America's sporting calendar will quash speculation all is not well in their relationship.

With Jolie dressed down in her signature black, the couple hoped to make a low-key entrance as they dashed through the stadium to take their seats for the big game

The remaining five of their six children appeared to miss out on the fun, but Cambodian-born Maddox got into the spirit of the game wearing a black and gold Saints jersey with quarterback Drew Brees' number nine on the front.

Family affair: The couple also took along their eldest son Maddox

Cheer squad: Jolie raises her arms in triumph after New Orleans Saints win the game

It was the first time they'd been pictured together in over a month - after last being photographed out dining in New York on January 6.

Pitt and Jolie both attended the Directors Guild of America Awards over a week ago, but arrived separately and declined to be photographed together.

Since then, the couple have been involved in several projects to help rebuild the city in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Like shooting fish in a barrel: How a photographer coaxed a kingfisher to pose for the camera

I'm coming in..This stunning close-up shows the kingfisher diving into the tank to get at the fish

Perched in a tree by the side of the pool, the kingfisher's beady eye is focused on just one thing - her lunch.

In a blinding flash of cobalt-blue and orange-chestnut she launches herself like a torpedo into the water to seize one of the minnows that are swimming there.

Then she beats it against the side of her perch before swallowing it whole and turning her attention on the second course - another minnow.

Gotcha! Perched on a branch by the side of the pool, the kingfisher's beady eye is focused on just one thing - lunch

Normally this blur of activity is almost impossible to capture on film because of its incredible speed and the sometimes murky nature of the water.

But in a remarkable relationship between man and bird, amateur naturalist Adrian Groves has managed to coax one of his local kingfishers to dive into a glass tank of minnows he has set on the riverbank so that he can record the action in fine detail.

'Ninety-nine per cent of people never get this close,' he said yesterday. 'But I am so fascinated by the birds, their beauty and their behaviour that I was determined to make a proper study.

'Kingfishers have a very poor survival rate, especially in winter, and this one gets to look very scrawny. I like to think that I'm not only ensuring her survival but drawing attention to the species as a whole.'

Mr Groves, 44, a coach driver, first spotted the kingfisher when he was out looking for buzzards and peregrine falcons near his home in South Dorset.

'It was about two years ago and I fell in love with the colours and the quick movements,' he said. 'The trouble is that they are such shy birds that it is difficult to get close which is why I hit on my plan.'

After getting permission from a landowner to carry out his experiment, Mr Groves set up his camouflaged tank of minnows at the water's edge which he knew was kingfisher territory.

He built a perch for the birds to sit on and operated his cameras remotely from some distance away.

He said: 'It took time for them to get used to it, but now they sometimes appear within minutes although I have sat there for four hours. I will wait all day because they are so fascinating.

'One comes and sits very close to me, almost like a robin. There's always something different happening and it is just fantastic to sit there and watch. I never get tired of it. There are so many different things about the kingfisher to learn.'

3D: Coming to a laptop near you

The Asus G51J laptop has a bit of peripheral flicker - and that fades quickly as your eyes acclimatise - but otherwise it delivers

The laptop arrived accompanied, inevitably, by a disc of Avatar: The Game - basically, if you buy anything 3D at the moment, you'll be dreaming about blue people, as there's precious little else in the way of 3D content.

But it it all kicks off this year: Sky starts broadcasting 3D sport in April, and the first 3D Blu-rays will appear soon after, spearheaded by films full of wisecracking computer-generated animals and, of course, Avatar.

I turned on the Asus with some trepidation. I've tried so-called 3D laptops before, which add 3D e ffects to 2D games. The downside is that they give you a feeling of nausea vaguely akin to that of eating dinner on a passenger ferry in choppy seas.

The Asus has a bit of peripheral flicker - and that fades quickly as your eyes acclimatise - but otherwise it delivers. The 3D uses Nvidia's 3D Vision graphics system and active shutter glasses. These are designed with tiny blinds that cut o ff one eye at a time at a rate of 100 times a second. This creates the two separate images needed for the 3D eff ect.

The demo videos feel appropriately supercharged: logos leap at you like they might hit you in the face, and there's huge depth of field to every image. Avatar: The Game's effects are actually far more solid and over-the-top than the film's... it's just a pity that you quickly think, 'This is drivel. Are there any GOOD games for this thing?'

Nvidia's 3D Vision card lets you update lots of 2D games into 3D. Some, like Batman: Arkham Asylum, look as good as Avatar. Others wobble and flicker like there is faulty lighting. But the graphics card at least warns you politely that the game you've just loaded might well give you a blinding headache.

As a first, all-in 3D package, this is a great boy's toy - not to mention a superb techno-talking point when used in public.

At £1,699, though, your new-found popularity won't be cheap - and it will only last until the first 3D TVs appear in April.

New Orleans Saints 31 Indianapolis Colts 17: Peyton Manning denied glory as Saints grab first Superbowl triumph

Party time: Drew Brees celebrates after defeating Indianapolis Colts

New Orleans Saints made the most of their first Super Bowl appearance in the 42-year history of the franchise by defeating Indianapolis Colts 31-17 at Miami's SunLife Stadium.

The NFC-champion Saints came from 10-0 down at the end of the first quarter - equalling the largest deficit overturned to win a Super Bowl - and still trailed by a point at 16-17 heading into the fourth before dominating the final period to deny Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning and his side a second Super Bowl victory in four years.

It was an emotional occasion for the city of New Orleans, less than five years after it bore the brunt of Hurricane Katrina, as a series of bold calls from head coach Sean Payton helped them claim the title.

The Colts had gone into a 10-0 lead thanks to a Matt Stover field goal and Manning's 19-yard touchdown pass into the end zone for 23-year-old, second-year wide receiver Pierre Garcon, Stover returning to kick the extra point.

The second quarter saw a more assertive Saints display as they outgained the Colts by 143 yards to 15, yet only came away with two Garrett Hartley field goals to show for their dominance and went in 10-6 down at half-time. But they stunned the Colts by opting for an onside kick-off at the start of the second half - and recovered the ball through Jonathan Casillas after a lengthy melee.

Take that: Tracy Porter intercepts for a touchdown in Florida

The Saints took the lead for the first time in the game when quarterback Drew Brees threw his first touchdown pass, running back Pierre Thomas making the reception and jinking 20 yards into the end zone behind some excellent blocking. Hartley kicked the extra point to put New Orleans into a 13-10 lead.

The Colts reacted by running the ball, with Joseph Addai collecting the hand-off from Manning four yards out and side-stepping his way into the end zone before Stover added a point as Indianapolis regained the lead at 17-13.

Wide of the mark: Colts' Matt Stover misses a field goal

Hartley's 47-yard field goal with 2:06 remaining in the quarter made him the first kicker ever to land three goals from 40 yards or more in the Super Bowl and left the Saints a point behind, setting up a perfectly poised last 15 minutes.

The Colts suffered a setback at the end of the first drive of the fourth quarter when Stover missed a field goal attempt from 51 yards and the Saints took advantage on the next possession as Brees sent a short pass right for Jeremy Shockey.

Agony: Peyton Manning trudges off after the defeat

Shockey had been injured when his former team New York Giants won the Super Bowl against New England Patriots two years ago but he was front and centre to collect Brees' pass and the Saints opted to go for two extra points rather than one from a kick.

The plan looked to have backfired when Brees' pass to Lance Moore was ruled incomplete but Payton challenged the decision and was it overturned on review to give his side a 24-17 lead with 5:46 left on the clock. The catch also saw MVP Brees equal Tom Brady's Super Bowl record of 32 completions.

Rockers: The Who's Roger Daltrey (left) and Pete Townshend woo the crowd

The Colts' comeback was derailed with 3:24 left when, having advanced to the New Orleans 31-yard line, Manning's pass intended for wide receiver Reggie Wayne was picked off by Tracy Porter.

The defensive back raced 74 yards back upfield for an interception touchdown and, with Hartley landing the extra point, the Saints were 31-17 up.

Back came the Colts for one last throw of the dice but as they camped on the New Orleans goal-line, Garcon was penalised for pass interference inside the end zone and Manning was forced back 10 yards to the 13.

The Colts quarterback tried again and with less than a minute left on the clock Indianapolis were on the five-yard line on fourth down. Manning threw again into the end zone and again looking for Wayne, but the pass was incomplete and the game was effectively over.

The Saints ate up the clock and Brees, his team-mates and the city of New Orleans began an impromptu Mardi Gras in Miami.

Incredible Ireland: Driving the Ring of Kerry on an adventure around the Emerald Isle

Kerry good show: County Kerry is packed with wonderful sights, including the Gap Of Dunloe

'Are we in the part of Ireland that England owns?' asked my six-year-old as we wind along country lanes lined with yellow gorse, hedgerows overtaken by red fuchsia and past woodland ferns and waterfalls.

'This is magical,' cry the children in chorus. It's love at first sight. I remember feeling like that, too, when I first went to Ireland as a child - the warmth of the people, the chill of the mist, the rambling wildness so different from the manicured, pretty parts of England that I knew.

We were doing half of the Ring of Kerry in our travels, driving to the furthest point (37 miles away), then retracing our journey with a different stop each night, providing the children with short car journeys and long spells in the fresh air.

Parknasilla, where we start, was described by George Bernard Shaw after his visit in 1909 as 'part of our dream world'. A century later, nothing has changed. Surrounded by 500 acres of woodland and seashore, there are seven walking routes through forests, along beaches and past lush, subtropical vegetation, thanks to the Gulf Stream. Wonderful - especially with the ready wit of hall porter P. J. (Patrick Joseph, of course), our guide.

Sneem, just down the road, is a quintessential Irish village. Brightly painted houses and shops surround a green, the church overflows on Sundays and the best black pudding in the world is made by butcher Peter O'Sullivan.

Heading towards Kenmare, you pass the turning to the Eclipse Centre - stables where you can go on horseback to explore 90 acres of land, some of it bordering the Blackwater river. You can also try archery, fishing and quad surfing.

At Sheen Falls Lodge, we are greeted by the roar of the Sheen River cascading over the rocks just under the hotel, and a roaring fire.

The hotel's position is sublime, with the falls thundering away and the blue of Kenmare Bay glimpsed through the trees. Just to the right is Sheen Bridge, dating from 1777, its beautiful arches of stone reflected in still waters.

A couple of jumps disturbing the deep pool give us hope of fishing for salmon. My six-year-old son deftly puts prawns on the hook while my eight-year-old daughter goes off picking wild flowers.

But what the children love best is the Seafari - a seal-watching expedition out to the Kenmare River Marine Park, sheltered between the Breara and Iveragh mountain peninsulas. There are grey and common seals at this rookery, which had 50 new pups last year. A former marine biologist comes out daily and can get close to the seals in his boat without frightening them. They're a joy to watch in their natural surroundings.

Unusually for Ireland, Kenmare has more restaurants than bars, but the food at The Park Hotel at the top of the town is so good we don't venture out.

The food is just one of the strengths of the hotel, built in 1897 to break the journey for rail passengers travelling to Parknasilla; another is its superlative Samas spa.

Meaning 'indulgence of the senses', it allows you to do just that with gorgeous treatments. Our last stop, Aghadoe Heights had a wonderful spa and views over Lough Lein.

From here, mythological lovers Oisin and Niamh 'went west' to Tir na nOg 'the land of eternal youth'.

Maybe my children will come back one day, like me, in search of just that.

How to... seduce a man

Very Valentines: A new partner or sturdy other half, here's how to make him feel special

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FLIRTATION AND SEDUCTION

Flirtation is simply about making the other party feel like a million dollars: it’s a way of making someone feel so good that they are attracted to you and want to be around you.

Seduction is taking flirtation to a level where you are setting out to achieve a conscious goal - that can be in a sexual sense, or simply about achieving a status where you enter into a relationship.

Seduction can also be used in the workplace to get the results required in negotiations.

Once you realise the power of seduction, you can apply it to all areas of your life: for example, getting a BT technician to be extra dedicated when sorting out your phone.

KNOW WHO YOU ARE BEFORE TRYING TO SEDUCE SOMEONE

Until you know who you are and are comfortable with that, it’s difficult to set about seducing someone with any conviction.

It’s often said that confidence is the sexiest attribute one can possess, and it’s true that people are naturally drawn to those who are comfortable in their own skin.

Make sure you’re happy with what you are wearing, you like your hair and make-up, and you’re feeling calm and happy. It’s much easier to seduce a man when you are at ease with yourself and have a sense of your own personality.

MAKE THEM FEEL SPECIAL

Giving someone attention is the ultimate seduction technique. It can be quite subtle, but it’s all about creating an intimacy to make that man feel special.

If it’s someone you don’t know, begin with eye contact, then start a conversation and adapt your body language.

If it’s someone you’re in a relationship with and want to add some seductive sparkle, then start with the same approach: pretend you are getting to know them for the first time.

Try to learn new things about that person, however long you’ve been together.

Don’t be overbearing: have a happy, relaxed attitude that isn’t needy.

Making a man feel like there’s nothing else more interesting in the world than him is a key factor in the art of seduction.

GROOMING IS ESSENTIAL

Subtle, understated make-up is important: so don’t go overboard. Men don’t like the mask effect of lots of make-up; they like to know what’s underneath.

Put simply: make-up is messy and gets in the way, and a lot of men really don’t like it.

Better to spend your time treating your hair with an intense conditioning mask so it’s soft and shiny, and applying a deliciously soft lotion or oil on to your skin so it’s smooth and silky to the touch.

Long talons are a turn-off, too: neat, tidy nails without any rough edges are much more appealing. Choose your fragrance carefully. You want to smell clean, but not like you are wearing somebody else’s scent. Perfume simply masks who you really are: men are genetically programmed to love the natural scent of a woman’s skin — even if we aren’t aware it exists.

WEAR THE RIGHT CLOTHES AND SHOES

Most women have an outfit that makes them feel sexy: I have an Alexander McQueen dress that is my ‘result dress’. It’s a sure bet, because it dresses my contours.

Wear the right underwear, too. You need to show off your bottom or your bust and know what your assets are: men like the obvious elements of a woman’s body. There is also a reason stilettos have become a cliche, they work.

Don’t stop making an effort to wear seductive clothing just because you’ve been in a relationship for a while: going to the trouble of wearing your man’s favourite outfit is a real turn-on. Take him by surprise when he gets home from work one evening.

GIVE THE AIR OF SEXUAL POSSIBILITY

Men don’t like to work that hard: they like to feel there is the possibility of physicality. If you’re in a long-term relationship and your idea of romance is a candlelit supper, make that a more appealing prospect for your man by alluding to the delicious dish - you - that might be served for afters.

If you are looking to seduce a new partner, demonstrate some kind of awareness of the possibility of physical intimacy without being overtly sexual or threatening.

Men are simple, not stupid. Seduction is about a simple fulfilment for them, but they also like to feel they are the masters of seduction. Keep an air of mystery to your seduction: keep it light, look like you’re a fun option. If they don’t respond to you as the fun person, they’ll run a mile when you mention all your neuroses.

DON’T APPEAR DESPERATE

You mustn’t chase hard: nothing is more off-putting than desperation. Make yourself attractive by being as gorgeous as you can in your own skin. Seducing a man is about making him want to chase you.

The women who find it hard to seduce a man come with a long, demanding list of requirements: the ones who seduce with ease are the ones who come with an air of mystery.

Mortgage mystery over John Terry and his 'pay-offs to five lovers'

Toni Terry in Dubai: The message on her back reads 'I hate the confusion'

John Terry found his finances coming under as fierce scrutiny as his sex life yesterday amid claims that he has bought off up to five former lovers.

The disgraced footballer - sacked as England captain last week - is said to have paid the women to prevent them going public about their relationships.

The heavy bill for his extra-marital liaisons has prompted searching questions about £170,000-a-week Terry's wealth after it emerged that the mortgage on his family home is now far bigger than the £2.75million purchase price of the property.

The 29-year-old continues to be beset by rumours about gambling problems. In 2005, he reportedly splashed out £30,000 on champagne at Chelsea's Christmas party after winning £200,000 at a casino.

And at one stage he was said to be gambling weekly sums of up to five figures, although a source close to the player insisted he has since reined in his spending.

His spokesman has denied he has money problems or a gambling habit.

Terry was sacked as England captain on Friday during a ten-minute showdown at Wembley with manager Fabio Capello, following his affair with French underwear model Vanessa Perroncel.

Covering up: Ms Terry relaxes by the pool in Dubai, where she is staying in a £300-a-night hotel with their twins, her parents and some close friends

His wife Toni, who has fled to a £300-a-night hotel in Dubai with their twin children, her parents, two friends and their two children, was seen yesterday lazing around the pool wearing a black singlet emblazoned with 'I love the chaos' on the front - and 'I hate the confusion' on the back.

Friends of Miss Perroncel said yesterday that the affair was all Terry's fault - accusing him of preying on her vulnerability and loneliness after she split from England footballer Wayne Bridge.

Gordon Brown has supported Capello's decision to remove the captaincy from Terry, but yesterday another government minister bizarrely felt the need to give his opinion on the matter.

Salute to the fans: John Terry

Health Minister Mike O'Brien used the social networking service Twitter to state: 'The sacking of Terry is crass. Capello has bowed to tabloid pressure.

Infidelity is bad but I saw no signs of fatigue in his football.'

In a failed attempt to keep his England captaincy before the meeting with Capello, Terry is said to have agreed to pay Miss Perroncel anything from £400,000 to £750,000 not to sell her story.

Yesterday it was claimed that he had instructed advisers to approach four other women he fears could wreck his career.

Despite his fabulous earnings of almost £9million a year from Chelsea, plus a £4million contract to wear Umbro football boots, Terry has a puzzling trail of mortgages to his name.

According to Land Registry documents, Terry's mansion in Oxshott, Surrey, has been mortgaged four times in seven years. Purchased for £2.75million in July 2003, the first mortgage was with Coutts Finance Co.

Jennifer Aniston's romance with Gerard Butler heats up as she jets off on birthday holiday with the actor and her closest friends

Holiday romance? Jennifer Aniston has jetted to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico with rumoured boyfriend Gerard Butler

Jennifer Aniston and actor Gerard Butler have fuelled speculation that they are enjoying a romance by jetting off on holiday together.

Miss Aniston, who turns 41 on Thursday, has flown to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico with the Scottish star along with close friends Courteney Cox and Sheryl Crow to celebrate her birthday.

The A-list group looked to be having a fabulous time together as they were pictured sunbathing by the pool

Miss Aniston, who was donning a mismatched brown and pink bikini, chatted happily with Miss Cox and Miss Crow while Mr Butler relaxed on a sunlounger in light blue shorts.

Sources at the event even said they were seen kissing at the show's after-party.

According to US reports, the couple were being so overt with their canoodling that event organisers were gossiping about it on their walkie-talkies.

They were then pictured gazing into each other’s eyes at the Hope for Haiti Now appeal in the U.S shortly afterwards.

The twosome first became close when filming forthcoming movie The Bounty Hunter together last summer.

According to film experts, the sexual chemistry between the pair is obvious in the film.

And they share some intimate on-screen moments. In one scene, Miss Aniston even straddles her co-star while handcuffed to a bed.

The pair were rumoured to have been involved in an off-screen tryst while filming the flick, with a source claiming they enjoyed kisses between scenes and spent free time in Aniston’s trailer. But, at the time, Mr Butler insisted they were just friends.

Vanessa Perroncel dated pop stars and soap stars... then discovered footballers could earn a lot more

By Ian Gallagher, Mail on Sunday Chief Reporter

Going for gold: Vanessa Perroncel in a film poster with Ali G in 2002

Looking back, there was always something about Vanessa Perroncel that made her stand apart from the rest of the wannabe WAGs. Maybe it was because she was simply more alluring, said a friend, and possessed a 'hint of danger'.

Another recalled a girl more likely to deliver a sharp put-down rather than a simpering giggle when she cornered her footballing quarry in nightclubs - a tactic that seemed to make them desire her more.

A former flatmate suggested it was her dedication to her craft that put her in a class of her own: the way, for example, she scanned the back pages of newspapers with a practised eye every morning.

Or how on one occasion, in the company of a group of players, she adopted the air of a seasoned pundit while remarking on the implications of a change in Chelsea's formation.

Then there was the informed kick-by-kick commentary Miss Perroncel provided whenever she sat on the brown leather sofa in her council flat (two minutes' walk from Chelsea's stadium) to watch football on TV.

'She wanted to be the most complete WAG - to hold her own with footballers about football, not just shopping,' said a friend.

So, yes, whatever it was about her, Vanessa Perroncel - lingerie model, brazen gold-digger, man-hunter extraordinaire - was indeed different from the rest. And certainly no WAG before her has cut such a devastating trail.

This weekend, one England captain is no more, several marriages are thought to be under considerable strain and the FA is once again in a hopeless spin.

In dressing rooms up and down the land yesterday, the talk centred not so much on tactics as on who might be unmasked next as one of her conquests.

To Miss Perroncel's friends, all this comes as no surprise. In interviews with The Mail on Sunday, more than one likened her to a 'timebomb'.

Former flatmate Linda Wardley, for example, observed at first hand her mesmerising effect on footballers and recalls one occasion in particular that 'made me think she had every single one under her spell'.

Linda said: 'It was Vanessa's birthday and four Chelsea lads came to the door with a massive bouquet of flowers and chocolates.

'They weren't first-team players - they were so fresh-faced and innocent-looking that I assumed they were from the youth team.

'They asked rather sweetly if Vanessa was at home and when I said, "No," they said they'd wait outside. They must have been there a good hour before she arrived back.
'She had a quick word with them and then came in on her own, clutching her flowers, as if it was no big deal.'

It wasn't just Chelsea stars who fell for Miss Perroncel's charms. Friends have told The Mail on Sunday that she dated players from other clubs - though as she was fond of saying: 'Always Premier League, darling' - and that her conquests embraced the wider world of celebrity, possibly even the Hollywood A-list.

'When I first knew her she had a thing about boy bands,' said a former best friend who shared a flat with her for three years.

The mighty fallen: John Terry and Vanessa Perroncel the day after their affair led to his sacking as England captain

'She briefly dated Shane Lynch from Boyzone, Lee Ryan from Blue, had an 18-month relationship with Lee Latchford-Evans from Steps - and there was someone from Westlife.'

And if it wasn't pop stars, it was soap stars. 'She dated a guy who used to be in EastEnders. He was very smitten but she got bored by him and dumped him pretty quickly. And there was a guy from Hollyoaks who used to be in a band.

'She also spent time in Los Angeles and came back boasting about flings with A-list movie stars. I wouldn't doubt it for a minute. She said she could have any man she wanted - and from what I saw, she did.'

Last night, Miss Perroncel's spokesman said she denied dating Shane Lynch and that although she once went on a date with Lee Ryan, they had never had sex.

Underpinning all Miss Perroncel's encounters - brief and not so brief - was a deep-seated yearning for security.

'She wanted to be looked after, to be treated like a princess, to be kept in some style,' said the former best friend. 'If we were in a club talking to two guys, she'd always go for the one with money and status regardless of what he looked like.'

Those closest to Miss Perroncel are convinced that the explanation for her behaviour lies, in part, at least, in the death of her father, Jean-Claude, who gassed himself in his car in France when his only child was just 11 years old.

His suicide was blamed on money troubles and left his daughter devastated.

'He doted on her, spoilt her, gave her everything she wanted,' said the friend. 'She has always been close to her mother, a very glamorous woman herself, but she adored her father.'

Aged 23, Miss Perroncel arrived in Britain on the eve of the new millennium with ambitions to become a model. France, she told friends, was replete with beautiful girls - it would be 'much easier' to make it in London.

She signed up with agencies who told her that while she was too curvy for fashion and, at 5ft 10in, too tall for glamour, she had the perfect figure and looks to model lingerie.

For a while, she became the face of Richard Branson's Virgin lingerie. She also modelled, for £250 a day, on ITV's This Morning, and appeared on posters for an Ali G film.

Arguably her real goal, however, was to gain a toe-hold in the world of celebrity.

'She went out with other models to nightclubs, parties and concerts and because they were beautiful they would get in free and would be ushered into VIP areas where the TV stars and footballers lurked,' said her friend.

Campaign HQ: Vanessa Perroncel's former bedroom in a council flat near Chelsea FC

Backstage at a Steps concert, she was introduced to Lee Latchford-Evans. They were together for 18 months. Friends say Miss Perroncel was frustrated by his 'reluctance to commit'.

By the time they split, she was a well-recognised fixture on the celebrity circuit.

Her friend said: 'I was a close friend of Lee and knew Vanessa vaguely. Then I met her in Chinawhite nightclub in Soho and we hit it off and chatted for three hours.

'Afterwards we became inseparable and moved into a flat in Fulham. We would go out clubbing and she got her wealthy boyfriends to buy her Dolce & Gabbana, her favourite, and Prada and Chanel.

'Vanessa is beautiful. She would often say, "I can have any man in here." She wouldn't launch herself at men - they would come to her.

'She was very confident but could be quite aloof and snooty. She was a great dancer, very sexy, and men loved her.'

Miss Perroncel's interest in footballers began around 2002 when, once again at Chinawhite, she met the then Arsenal stars Ashley Cole and Jermaine Pennant, who both became friends.

According to her friend: 'The penny dropped that some footballers earned a lot more than some of the pop stars she'd been dating. And this seemed to set her on a new path.

'The following year, she fell out with me when I got together with Lee, her old boyfriend from Steps. This infuriated her and I remember her walking past me in a nightclub saying, "I p*** on you. I am so much more beautiful than you."'

Early in 2004, Miss Perroncel moved into Linda Wardley's two-bedroom council flat.

From the outset, said Linda, her lodger was clear about what she wanted in life.

'I remember her sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine saying she was going to get a Chelsea footballer, someone to keep her in the style she deserved,' she said.

'Vanessa had the basement room. It was normally a mess, with her knickers left lying all over the floor.

'She knew all the Chelsea players and her social life revolved around the club, going to parties and nightclubs. With her pal, she went to the European Championships in Portugal and said she'd stayed in the England hotel.

'I remember her being very hot-tempered. She would have her hair done at Toni & Guy on the Fulham Road but would regularly fall out with her hairdresser for not doing it to her liking. She would also have a go at the bloke who did her nails.'

In the middle of 2004, Linda said, Miss Perroncel began a seven-month affair with married Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen, who 'visited the flat twice to my knowledge'. Gudjohnsen has since denied the allegation.

'She would sneak him out early in the morning,' said Linda. 'But on one occasion he was recognised by some teenage girls across the street.

'Once, Vanessa came round with Frank Lampard, who was just a friend. And of course she became close to Wayne Bridge, who I thought seemed ever so nice. At first she didn't think he was her type, but after a while she was spending all her time with him.

'He came to help her move out and was dragging all her boxes out of the basement. Of course, he managed to do something wrong and she had a go at him. I remember him raising his eyebrows. I thought then that the writing was on the wall.'

Negative Side Effects Of Masturbation

By Dr. Hernando Chaves

My penis is mad at me. How could I write an article on the negative side effects of masturbation? He thinks I’m a traitor and switched teams. I hope he doesn’t take it out on me and be a passive-aggressive limp noodle for my next sexcapade. But how much do we really know about masturbation and its side effects? Sure, we know masturbation feels good -- that’s a gimme. But what else can it do to us? Playing with ourselves can help us fall asleep, reduces headaches and stress, anxiety and tension, it’s great for immune functioning, increasing endorphin production, and is so good for our prostates. But is there anything else we should be looking out for besides Kim Kardashian’s next Carl’s Jr. commercial?

The negative side effects of masturbation your parents believed
There’s a lot of history behind the negative side effects of masturbation. Since man could grab his pecker and stroke it, people have been coming up with myths that it’s bad for you. Will masturbating cause acne? If it did, 95% of guys would be walking around with a face full of zits. Masturbation must cause sterility right? While it’s true having consecutive ejaculations will reduce your sperm count and the volume of semen compared to the first ejaculation, your testes are a factory for sperm production and masturbation isn’t going to close this factory down. Does masturbation cause hairy palms? I don’t even understand this one; is semen miracle grow? The same can be said for blindness, insanity and a whole host of other myths that have been proved false by medical science.

So there has to be some negatives right? Masturbation itself is harmless and there are no proved long-term physical issues with moderate masturbation habits. However, we can all experience some side effects, whether they are short-term, long-term or related to chronic masturbation habits.

Touching breeds unwanted familiarity
One side effect of masturbation is subsequent ejaculations will take longer. If you masturbate a few times before a date and, hopefully, proceed to have sex, you’ll probably find more difficulty reaching climax. Thankfully, giving our penis a day or two to recharge should do the trick. In addition, we each know the secrets to getting ourselves off. Masturbating can sometimes create an individual orgasm effect where we train our bodies to respond to our own familiar touch and have a reduced response to other people’s touch, resulting in a tougher time reaching climax with others. A lot of guys can relate to this.

Our hard-ons may also be affected by masturbation as well. After each ejaculation, you’ll notice the firmness of the next erection may get slightly softer and spongier, depending on how close apart the erections are. There’s little evidence that too many erections or masturbation will have an effect on your erection in the future. There’s a wealth of evidence that points to age, diet, smoking, and cardiovascular health as factors that affect your beat-meat getting stiff. Another side effect of masturbation is abrasions or swelling of the penis. Some people have rough hands, calluses, use vigorous strokes, or don’t use lube. Ouch!

Masturbation and guilt
Masturbation can also have a negative psychological impact on a person. Many people feel shame and guilt because of their masturbation habits. Whether it’s a cultural, religious or moral issue, people can be very hard on themselves. The tug of war between what feels natural and pleasurable versus what they were told to refrain from can have lasting harmful effects on a person’s self-esteem, confidence and self-love. Psychosomatic effects can also occur, where physical symptoms are the result of psychological factors (feeling shame, guilt, anxiety can manifest into things like headaches, back pain, chronic pain, etc).

The problems with chronic masturbation
Biologically, chronic masturbating can affect our brain and body chemistry because it can overproduce sex hormones and neurotransmitters. This overproduction impacts each person differently, and can range from fatigue, pelvic pain, vision changes, lower back pain, testicular pain, or hair loss. There is current research that states increased testosterone production is linked to DHT production, which is associated with male pattern hair loss.

However, we have to be careful of the conclusions we extrapolate from research. I still need more evidence to believe hair loss because correlation doesn’t imply causation. Did you know large consumptions of alcohol reduce testosterone production? So does this imply that drinking booze will reduce my testosterone levels, subsequently DHT levels, and stop my hair from falling out? Doubtful -- I’d just be bald and drunk. If you notice any of these effects, try cutting back on your masturbation habits for a few months and see if it helps alleviate your symptoms. If the symptoms are still there, you might as well keep tugging away and see a doctor for a medical checkup.

Compulsive masturbation can also negatively affect a person. What’s compulsive masturbating? There’s no set number of times; it’s associated with a person having difficulties in his life resulting from his masturbation habits. One guy masturbates six times a day and feels productive and great while the other feels the exact opposite. Compulsive masturbation can negatively affect your work, relationships, self-esteem, finances, social support, and have legal problems if you’re not able to find a balance between being responsible in life and satisfying your pleasures and desires.

where do you get off?
I hope I didn’t turn you off from masturbating. It’s a wonderful thing and one of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself. There are positives and negatives to everything in life: sex, singlehood, driving a car, being in a relationship, and working. We have to make sure the good outweighs the bad to find happiness. World Orgasm day is December 21st, you better get practicing.

'Snowmageddon' brings chaos to U.S. East Coast as Washington DC braces itself for worst blizzard in 90 years

Whiter house: Snow covers the US Capitol in Washington DC. The U.S. capital is expecting 30 inches tonight

Washington DC was braced today for the heaviest blizzard in 90 years with 30 inches of snow expected to fall on the U.S. capital tonight.

The ferocious storm was sweeping across the mid-Atlantic coast with mountainous areas of Maryland and West Virginia set to be covered in three feet of snow.

Local media have dubbed the storm 'snowmageddon' and 'snowpocalypse'.

The weather has crippled all transport services with all flights in the Washington-Baltimore area's airports and at Philadelphia International Airport cancelled.

Driving in the region was treacherous and authorities advised motorists to stay off the roads. Delaware govenor Jack Markell declared a state of emergency and ordered all vehicles off the road by 10pm last night.

Scores of road accidents have been reported already. A father and son were killed in Virginia after they were hit by a lorry while they were trying to help passengers escape a car stuck in a snowdrift

Cold trudge: A visitor leaves the warmth of the White House

Washington's Metro train service will operate only underground on Saturday and all bus services have been cancelled.

Train operator Amtrak cancelled a number of services on Saturday between New York and Washington and also between Washington and some destinations to the south.

Carpeted: A residential neighborhood near the US capital is transformed by a blanket of snow

Thousands of homes lost power in the Washington area as the snow weighed down trees and power lines.

Long queues formed outside upermarkets yesterday as frenzied residents rushed to stock up on groceries and other supplies ahead of a traditional parties weekend for Sunday's Super Bowl football game.

One Washington resident described the scene at her local supermarket.

Take a seat: Snow piled on a bench ina Washington park illustrates perfectly how much has fallen

'I got there at 7am [on Friday] and there were really long queues, Jane Bate, 41, said. 'The place looked like it had been ransacked.'

Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia each declared snow emergencies, allowing them to activate the National Guard to help prepare for the wintry onslaught and cope with its aftermath.

The storm prompted U.S. government offices in the Washington area to close their doors four hours early on Friday.

White night: Snow falls as a couple wend their way through Chinatown in Washington
Unseasonably cold temperatures were expected in the storm's wake next week.

The cold helped boost New York's natural gas market toward winter season highs on Friday, where prices reached about $11.50 per million British thermal units on average, up more than $4 from Thursday.

Grid locked: Rental bicycles are covered with snow in Washington DC

'Once we get through the weekend storm, much colder air will invade the Northeast and mid-Atlantic,' said Jim Rouiller, a senior energy meteorologist at private weather forecaster Planalytics.

'The outlook for the northeast third of the country next week is looking much colder than normal.'

The same weather system brought heavy rains to parts of the southeastern U.S.

The battery's dead: Scientists invent wafer-thin plastic that can store electricity

By David Derbyshire

Researcher Natasha Shirshova with her team's invention

The battery, which has powered our lives for generations, may soon be consigned to the dustbin of history.

British scientists say they have created a plastic that can store and release electricity, revolutionising the way we use phones, drive cars - and even wear clothes.

It means the cases of mobiles and iPods could soon double up as their power source - leading to gadgets as thin as credit cards.

The technology could also lead to flexible computer screens that can be folded up and carried around like a piece of paper.

And it could even be used to create 'electric clothes' that charge up as a person moves around and which slowly release heat when the weather gets cold.

Dr Emile Greenhalgh, from Imperial College London's Department of Aeronautics, said the material is not really a battery, but a supercapacitor - similar to those found in typical electrical circuits.

His team's prototype - which is around five inches square and wafer-thin - takes five seconds to charge from a normal power supply and can light an LED for 20 minutes.

Dr Greenhalgh, who is working with car company Volvo on a three-year, £3million project to use the material in hybrid petrol-electric cars, said: 'We think the car of the future could be drawing power from its roof or even the door, thanks to our material.

'The applications for this material don't stop there - you might have a mobile that is as thin as a credit card because it no longer needs a bulky battery, or a laptop that can draw energy from its casing so it can run for longer.'

The material charges and discharges electricity quicker than a conventional battery, and does not use chemical processes - giving it a longer lifespan, he added.

The scientists plan to use it to replace the metal floor of a Volvo car's boot which holds the spare wheel.

This would mean Volvo could shrink the size of its hybrid battery - and cut down the weight of the car, making it more efficient.

Dr Greenhalgh said: 'No one has created a material like this - within ten years it could replace batteries.'

The new patented material from scientists at Imperial College could do away with the need for traditional batteries forever

Cover girl with a difference, Jen Aniston reveals to Architectural Digest how she's renovated Brad Pitt out of her life

By Lizzie Smith

Welcome inside: Jennifer Aniston opens the doors to her home in the latest issue of U.S. magazine Architectural Digest

When Jennifer Aniston walked through the doors of her Beverly Hills mansion, she knew it was her perfect home.

But there was one thing that had to go - the 'his' bathroom.

As a single woman of self-sufficient means, Jennifer had no need for separate facilities for her other half.

So she converted the room into a spa.

The actress is so proud of her new home, which is in the hillside overlooking Beverly Hills, that she has opened the doors in the latest edition of U.S. magazine Architectural Digest.

'I can't tell you specifically the feeling I had when I walked through the doors for the first time, except to say I knew I was home,' she tells the magazine.

And the feeling it gives her? 'It's like a big hug.'
She says the dramatic, 14-foot doors attracted her to the home

'Like a big hug': Jennifer's luxury mansion, which she has spent two and a half years renovating

Jennifer has named it Ohana, a term meaning extended family in the Hawaiian culture.

The 40-year-old spent two and a half years renovating the home, with designer Stephen Shadley, the first major architectural project she had undertaken.

'I want to say this just right,' she says. 'I am so proud of this house.
'And I want to celebrate the people who made it: the master craftsmen who poured so much of themselves into its creation.'

Lady goo goo GaGa: Pop star is left holding the baby as she indulges in some retail therapy with a mystery male friend

By Marcus Barnes

Keeping mum: Lady GaGa steps out for some retail therapy at a vintage clothing store in California with a little baby boy

Her avant garde outfits are enough to terrify even the most macho man.

So Lady GaGa's decision to abandon her usual outré attire for a trip out with a small baby was - dare one say it - eminently sensible.

Ambling around make-up free in studded leather vest, white T-shirt and black jeans, the chart-topping singer looked surprisingly ordinary.

Male companion: The singer was stopped off at the Giant Dollar store with a mystery male friend before the shopping trip

Her only concession to eccentricity was a hat swap from a black woolen beanie to a straw boater with a grey wig.

The decision to adopt a more incognito approach on a shopping trip in South Gate, California, appeared to have gone down well with her young companion.

And as GaGa's name - taken from the Queen song Radio GaGa - sounds like baby talk, they probably found quite a bit to say to each other.

She was accompanied by a mystery male friend as they trawled a vintage clothes shop after they'd stopped off for some snacks at the Giant Dollar store.

Who's your mother? GaGa holds the little boy as she makes her way into the Giant Dollar mall in South Gate, California

The Bad Romance singer and her male companion took it in turns to hold the baby, GaGa giving the little boy an admiring glance at one point as she walked through the shopping mall's car park.

While her friend, who appeared enamoured with the baby, took a photo of himself and the tot on his phone.

Meanwhile the outrageous star, who named herself after Queen's Radio Gaga, recently had some new body art added to her collection in honour of her fans.

Fresh from her incredible Grammy night, in which she won two awards and performed a show-stopping array of songs with Elton John, the singer decided to show how grateful she was for her success with a new tattoo.

She had Little Monsters etched in italics onto the skin on her skin and then posted the pic on her Twitter page.

GaGa tweeted: ‘Look what I did last night. Little Monsters forever, on my arm that holds my mic. x.’.

Her new arm ink now sits below another tattoo in German, which is a quote from her favourite philosopher Rainer Maria Rilke.

Lady GaGa also has a peace sign on her wrist in memory of John Lennon, roses and daisies on her neck, back, hip and the words ‘Tokyo love’ written on her left shoulder.
